Days per Week – 32.5 hoursThis is a rewarding opportunity for someone who believes in the potential of people with intellectual disabilities and wants to help create genuine pathways into meaningful employment.About the roleThe Employability Skills Program supports Trainees to build confidence, develop practical workplace skills and work towards employment goals that reflect their strengths and interests.The program is delivered using the Individual Placement and Support model, adapted to meet the needs of people with intellectual disabilities.
It focuses on individual goals, work-ready skills, employer connections, work experience and pathways into paid employment.As Coordinator, you will lead the day-to-day delivery and continued development of the program.
You will work closely with Trainees, staff, employers, training providers and community organisations to create practical opportunities that lead to real outcomes.In this role, you will:Lead the delivery and growth of the Employability Skills ProgramSupport Trainees to identify their strengths, interests and employment goalsDevelop individual learning and employment plansCreate opportunities to build confidence and practical workplace skillsConnect Trainees with work experience, volunteering and paid employment opportunitiesBuild strong relationships with local employers, training providers and community organisationsSupport,
guide and mentor team members involved in the programMonitor progress and adjust plans as goals or circumstances changeMaintain accurate records and complete required administrationHelp create meaningful and sustainable employment pathwaysWe're looking for someone who:Has a genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities into meaningful employmentBelieves in the strengths, potential and contribution of every personHas strong leadership and organisational skillsCommunicates clearly and builds positive relationshipsCan motivate, guide and mentor staffFeels confident networking with employers and community organisationsUnderstands person-centred and asset-based approachesCan think creatively and identify employment opportunitiesHas strong administration and computer skillsShares Compass' values and will contribute positively to our cultureExperience in any of the following would be highly regarded:Disability employment servicesIndividual Placement and SupportVocational education or trainingCommunity developmentEmployer engagement or workforce developmentPosition requirementsEvidence of Australian working rightsCurrent NDIS Worker Screening CheckCurrent Working with Children Check (Blue Card)Experience in the disability sector is highly regardedThis is an opportunity to help shape a growing program and support people with intellectual disabilities to work towards goals that matter to them.You will be based in our new Nambour Centre and work alongside a team that believes meaningful employment can build confidence, independence, connection and a stronger sense of purpose.The role will be varied.
One day you may be helping a Trainee develop an employment plan or practise workplace skills.
