Located in the Orana Region of NSW 432 km north west of Sydney, this rural town is rich in agriculture and has an approximate population of 2,417 residents
The Acute care section can accommodate 12 inpatients at any time. This unit has beds designated for Palliative care and two Renal Chairs for Haemodialysis Care. The ED operates 24/7 and is attended by routine Visiting Medical offers and experienced registered Nurses.
The Residential Aged Care unit has 18 high level beds and 1 respite bed

GP VMO - capable of managing approx. 12 presentations daily. Qualifications/Experience Advanced Life Support – Adult and paediatric resuscitation drugs, life pack, defibrillator, neo puff, slit lamp. Emergency, Trauma, Adult and Paediatric Support Basic Life Support Straightforward Suturing ECG Interpretation Catheterisation Sound Clinical Judgement Communicate appropriately Medicare Provider number requirements: Full billing or refer and request billing rights acceptable Must have completed eMeds training Duties Expectation that you review all cases in-person throughout the day. Hours required to be on-site will be 8am ward rounds, followed by ED reviews etc - finish time to be negotiated with site. Be familiar with between the flags, clinical review, and rapid response process. Know how to alter calling criteria when appropriate. Become familiar with the current pathways used such as chest pain, sepsis, COPD plan and cardiac Failure plan. Must return to the ED when requested by nursing staff at any time.
Complete discharge summaries and review admitted patients as requested. Complete contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical documentation in all systems including discharges in eMR/eMeds. Medication reconciliation, charting process, MEMI stock, virtual clinical pharmacy involvement. Check pathology and radiology results in the ED results message centre ordered by any doctor, follow-up and document management plans for any results needed further action and review any patients returning for follow-up of results. Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings, MDT meetings and other clinical meetings as requested. Required to participate in Multidisciplinary Team Meeting on Monday morning at the Hospital. Handover at the end of your contract. On Call Requirements • You will be the sole Doctor on call 24/7. • You as the Locum Doctor will be called in for all triage categories (1s to 5s) in-person between **** hrs and **** hrs, • Overnight from **** hrs to **** hrs the locum doctor will be required to review Category 1 and 2 ED Presentations in-person. • Overnight from **** hrs until **** hrs VRGS will cover Category 3, 4 and 5 ED Presentations, however you will be required to attend if a clinician or the Registered Nurse calls you requesting your presence. • On-call will also require you at all times to attend any inpatients that are deteriorating.
• vCare are available in emergency situations *************) to assist with support and escalation of a Patient within the facility that requires Emergency assistance, transfer to tertiary facility, advice from specialist teams, emergency birth assistance, Paediatric specialist care, Trauma and Burn specialist support. Fatigue breaks Fatigue breaks are available if Doctor has an emergency, busy night/day and is feeling fatigued, however this must be discussed prior to taking any break with the Health Service Manager or 'In charge'. Support is available via VRGS to provide doctor fatigue break if required.
