About the role

The HSC Logistics Supervisor takes ownership of the day-to-day logistics, maintenance and operational needs of Gamardi School and Staff Camp. Working on Country, the role proactively identifies issues and priorities across the school site, accommodation, vehicles, equipment, supplies and other operational areas; determines appropriate solutions; coordinates the people, services and resources required; and follows matters through to resolution. The role manages supplies, trades, travel and community-based logistics so that school and camp operations run smoothly, safely and in a culturally aligned way, while maintaining strong local relationships.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the ordering, receiving, checking, storage and availability of school and camp supplies and equipment
- Coordinate deliveries to and between homelands, identifying requirements and resolving logistical issues as they arise
- Identify maintenance and repair needs, prioritise works, coordinate trade services and follow work through to completion
- Complete basic site maintenance and arrange appropriate solutions where specialist support is required
- Coordinate travel arrangements for staff, visitors and community members, including transport and associated logistics
- Manage operational readiness of school vehicles, including routine checks, servicing, repairs, equipment and safe use within the homeland setting
- Coordinate the set-up and logistical requirements for meetings, events, community gatherings and Staff Camp activities
- Maintain accurate records of supplies, deliveries, maintenance, vehicle and logistics activities
- Identify and resolve practical operational issues affecting teachers, staff, visiting personnel and the delivery of school activities




- Act as the local point of contact and take ownership of day-to-day logistics and operational coordination within the community

About you

- Good understanding of local community, Country and ways of working
- Ability to communicate respectfully with Elders, families and staff
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to identify priorities, make practical decisions and work independently within agreed responsibilities
- Reliable, organised and able to take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion
- Solid practical problem-solving and coordination skills across maintenance, transport, supplies, equipment and site operations
- Ochre Card (or ability to obtain)
- Current NT Driver's Licence
- Safe and confident driving skills in remote conditions
- Strong knowledge of local roads, homelands and seasonal complexities
- Ability to work reliably and consistently in a remote setting, including managing competing operational priorities

About us

Homeland School Company was established by Traditional Owners of the Djelk Indigenous Protected Area to create independent homeland schools grounded in Aboriginal language, culture and governance. Currently HSC runs one school at Gamardi, with aspirations to operate schools at Buluh Kaduru and Gochan Jiny-Jirra so that children can learn on Country, in their own languages, within the authority of their families and Elders. Education at HSC is shaped by community priorities and guided by the local seasonal calendar, ensuring that learning reflects both Indigenous knowledge systems and Western curriculum requirements.
