We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Cytologist to join the Cytology Department at our Gateshead Laboratory. Hours are negotiable.

About the role

- Primarily involves screening and reporting non-gynaecological samples, including fine needle aspiration biopsy specimens

- Attendance at FNA procedures for ROSE

- General laboratory duties, including slide filing

- Involves collaboration with pathologists and other healthcare workers

Ideal candidate

We are looking for the following:

- Appropriate recognised Science degree with Australian Society of Cytology certification





- Excellent organisation skills

- Solid communication and analytical skills

- Able to work independently as well as within a team

- An understanding of quality assurance procedures

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

- Patient, reliable and flexible

- Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail.
