- Work across Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals within Western Sydney Local Health District.

- Support the career development of Level 1/2 Dietitians, Dietitian Assistants and students.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Dietitian, you will provide expert nutrition and dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients while supporting the delivery and continual improvement of clinical services.
- Assess nutritional needs and provide diet education,
counselling and therapeutic nutrition interventions.
- Provide clinical supervision and professional support to Dietitians, Dietitian Assistants and students.
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research, accreditation and evaluation activities.
- Develop and deliver education and resources for health professionals, patients and consumers on nutrition, diet therapy and nutritional support.
- Represent Nutrition and Dietetics at relevant clinical and professional forums, supporting the Department Head as required.

Essential Criteria
- Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics, acceptable for membership of the Dietitians’ Association of Australia (DAA).
Selection Criteria
1. Substantial post graduate experience in a range of clinical areas and up to date knowledge of dietetic practice.
2. Well-developed written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, effective time management and ability to prioritise workload.
3. High level computer skills, including experience in using CBORD Diet Office System and Cerner eMR or equivalent
4.
Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and guide and support others in service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.
5. Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement, with the ability to work independently with minimal direct clinical supervision, but also effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
6. Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
7. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
8. Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and on call, if required.
