About The Prospect

As the Investigation and Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in strengthening integrity, accountability, and good governance across Bundaberg Regional Council. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will lead complex workplace investigations, provide expert compliance advice, and support the development of policies and frameworks that promote best practice across the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to influence positive organisational outcomes while ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant processes.

About You

You will be an experienced investigator and trusted advisor who thrives in complex environments and can balance compliance requirements with a people-focused approach. You will bring:

- Proven experience conducting complex workplace investigations and managing sensitive complaints with professionalism, discretion, and procedural fairness.
- Strong knowledge of employment, anti-discrimination, integrity and compliance frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation effectively.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills, with the ability to present clear findings and recommendations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, mediation and negotiation skills that build trust and confidence.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resources,



Industrial Relations, Employment Relations, Business, or a related discipline
- Local government experience highly regarded.
