About the role

Whitford Hire is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Machine Washer - Yard Person to join our team at our Acacia Ridge location in Queensland. This is a full-time position based at our yard facilities in Acacia Ridge QLD 4110. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our equipment and yard operations, ensuring that all machinery and hire equipment meet our high standards before being dispatched to customers. Your work will directly contribute to customer satisfaction and the smooth running of our business operations.

Key responsibilities

- Cleaning and washing hire equipment, machinery and vehicles using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment to best possible presentation for hire

- Operating pressure washers and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively

- Post Hire inspections recorded on device using our rental software

- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard environment

- Assisting with the receiving and despatch of equipment to and from delivery vehicles

- Performing general yard maintenance tasks including sweeping, tidying and waste management

- Supporting other team members with yard-based tasks as required

- Maintaining equipment used for cleaning and reporting any maintenance needs

What we're looking for

- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour duties throughout the day

- Reliability and a robust work ethic, with punctuality and consistent attendance

- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols and procedures

- Basic mechanical understanding or willingness to learn about equipment maintenance

- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as pressure washers is desirable but not essential





- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Attention to detail to ensure equipment is thoroughly cleaned to required standards

- A current valid driver's licence is preferred

- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
