Position Summary:

We’re hiring an Accountant with at least 2 years’ Australian public practice experience to join our Mackay team.

Not a Senior Accountant yet? That’s okay. If you’re technically sound, enjoy working with clients and want to progress based on your ability — not simply years of service — we want to hear from you.

At Ready Accounting, you will be provided with opportunities to move into senior roles, leadership and potentially equity over time.

You’ll also have the flexibility to choose the working arrangement that suits you:

- 4-day week: Monday, Wednesday–Friday (0.84 FTE)

- Full-time: Monday–Friday

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual, company, partnership and trust tax returns

- Prepare financial statements and compliance work

- Communicate directly with clients and build strong relationships

- Manage your allocated work and deadlines

- Work alongside junior accountants who support your workload

- Review supporting work and provide guidance where required

What We're Looking For:

- Minimum 2 years’ Australian public practice accounting experience

- Strong technical knowledge across tax and financial reporting

- Confident and comfortable in a client-facing role

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

- Excellent attention to detail and organisation

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines





- HandiTax experience advantageous

- Karbon workflow experience advantageous
