The opportunity

If you're mechanically minded, enjoy figuring out why equipment isn't working and would rather be out on customer sites than stuck in the same workshop every day, this could be a strong next step.

We're partnering with an established global industrial engineering business that has been operating for more than 80 years and supports customers across manufacturing, engineering and industrial environments worldwide.

They're looking for a Service Technician to join their Sydney operation.

You don't need previous experience with their specific equipment. They're more interested in finding someone with strong mechanical aptitude, a genuine interest in fault-finding and the right attitude toward safety and learning.

What you'll be doing

This is a genuine field-service position with plenty of variety. You'll be trusted to manage your day, attend customer sites and work through technical problems rather than simply replace parts.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot industrial extraction and filtration equipment
- Complete mechanical repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance
- Work with motors, fans, filters, ducting and associated components
- Support equipment installations, modifications and commissioning
- Complete accurate service reports and explain findings to customers

As you develop your product knowledge, there is scope to become increasingly involved in larger installations, commissioning and project-based work.

What we're looking for

We're not looking for one particular trade background.

You might currently work with pumps, compressors, HVAC, automotive equipment, access equipment, materials handling, manufacturing machinery, mechanical fitting or industrial maintenance.





More importantly, you're someone who:

- Enjoys fault-finding and understanding how machinery actually works
- Has strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical/control awareness
- Is confident with hand tools, power tools and testing equipment
- Can work independently and communicate professionally with customers
- Wants to continue learning and develop into broader technical responsibilities

If you're the type of person who pulls something apart because you genuinely want to know how it works and why it failed, you'll probably fit in well.

Safety matters

Because you'll be working across active commercial and industrial sites, we're looking for someone who takes safety seriously rather than treating it as paperwork.

You'll need to be comfortable working around:

- SWMS and site-specific safety procedures
- Isolation and lock-out requirements
- Working at Heights and EWP environments
- PPE and respiratory protection
- Knowing when work falls outside your competency and needs to be escalated

A White Card, Working at Heights, EWP and Working with Children Check will be well regarded. A forklift licence is also helpful.
