We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist, Network Security to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our network security capabilities.

Location: Macquarie Park 2113 NSW
Contract Term: 12 months Contract + Extension

This role offers hybrid work arrangements with a base location at Macquarie Park.

About the role:

This is a senior technical role responsible for providing subject matter expertise across firewall technologies, network security architecture, segmentation, secure connectivity, and cloud networking. You will play a key role in defining security standards, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient network services across the business and our customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and governance of enterprise network security architectures.

- Define and maintain standards for firewalls, network segmentation, remote access, and secure connectivity.

- Provide technical leadership for firewall platforms including policy governance, optimisation, and lifecycle management.

- Develop security architecture patterns aligned with Zero Trust and defence-in-depth principles.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation through technical assessments and proof-of-concepts.

- Support project and operational teams with expert guidance on complex network security challenges.

- Collaborate with engineering, cloud,



and infrastructure teams to deliver secure-by-design solutions.

About You

- 10+ years' experience in network and cyber security, including experience in network security architecture or technical specialist roles.

- Strong hands-on expertise with enterprise firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or Cisco.

- Deep understanding of network segmentation, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SD-WAN, SASE, Zero Trust, DDoS protection, and cloud network security.

- Experience developing technical standards, design patterns, and security governance frameworks.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

- Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, NSE, CCNP Security, CCIE Security, CISSP, or equivalent are highly regarded.
