About the role

The Instructional Designer & Assessment Coordinator is a high-impact role supporting the delivery of inclusive, compliant, and engaging education programs. The position is responsible for end-to-end learning resource development and the coordination of progressive foundation skills assessment, with a strong focus on the SEE program. The role ensures that diverse cohorts, including CALD learners, PALM scheme workers, early school leavers and mature-aged participants, receive accessible, contextualised training materials that support real-world outcomes.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of materials including learner workbooks, assessment kits, trainer guides, session plans, mapping matrices, and presentations

- Contextualise resources for industries and diverse cohorts, incorporating cultural considerations, translation supports and LLND-focussed vocabulary aids

- Design materials suitable for blended training modes, including Face-to-Face, virtual and workplace based

- Ensure all accredited materials are mapped to units of competency and the ACSF

- Enhance learning through scenario-based activities, workplace tasks and practical application

- Use emerging technologies and AI tools to develop engaging digital content, including video, audio, QR-enabled resources and gamification

- Apply adult learning principles to build learner confidence and support inclusion

- Collaborate with trainers, subject matter experts, employers, and industry to ensure relevance and accuracy

- Coordinate the progressive assessment of learners' core foundation skills with regional teams, trainers and administrators





- Oversee and support the application of formative and summative assessment tools for the SEE program

About you

- TAE50122 Diploma of VET (or higher adult LLND qualification) with a design and development focus

- Demonstrated experience developing accredited RTO and foundation skills (LLND) resources

- Strong working knowledge of the Australian Core Skills Framework and its use in assessment

- Proficiency in MS365 (Word, Excel, Teams) and confident using technology and AI to enhance learning content

- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate across regional teams

- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into plain English for low-literacy learners

- Current Working with Children Check and explicit National Police Check

- Exceptional written and verbal skills, with a specific talent for plain English writing and simplifying complex technical concepts for low-LLN cohorts

- Strong understanding of accessibility and cultural contextualisation for learners

- Proven ability to juggle multiple design projects and assessment deadlines simultaneously without sacrificing quality
