GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations.
We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation.
Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Surface Superintendent will lead the safe and effective delivery of surface services and infrastructure activities that support underground mining operations. This role is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, production personnel and contractors to execute weekly and medium-term plans, support delivery of the 13-week schedule, and maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, reliability and continuous improvement.
This role is based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities.
Key activities include but are not limited to
- Lead surface services and infrastructure activities in line with the Mine Safety Management System and site operating standards.
- Develop and execute weekly and 2–5 week plans that support delivery of the 13-week schedule.
- Coordinate resources, priorities and stakeholders to resolve conflicts and support efficient daily and weekly planning.
- Provide governance, standards and procedural guidance across surface services, including relevant specifications, drawings and compliance requirements.
- Manage operational risks associated with surface infrastructure assets such as gas drainage plants, water treatment plants, emplacements and dams.
- Lead production employees and contractors to deliver secure, reliable and sustainable outcomes.
- Monitor performance, report on key measures and drive improvement actions through the area improvement plan.
ABOUT YOU
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in underground coal mining, mining, resources, surface services, infrastructure or comparable heavy industry operations.
- Demonstrated capability leading employees, contractors, multidisciplinary teams and operational performance.
- Strong planning, scheduling, risk management, governance and commercial decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of surface infrastructure assets, statutory requirements and operational compliance.
- Ability to communicate, influence across functions, establish clear accountability and make sound decisions across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Frontline management experience or qualification will be highly regarded.
