About the role

Discover and Learn Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at our Tanilba Bay NSW location. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating workplace for young learners. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be instrumental in supporting children's development across all learning domains, fostering their curiosity, creativity and social-emotional growth. This role is essential to our commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education that sets a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

What you'll be doing

- Planning and delivering age-appropriate learning activities and experiences that promote children's cognitive, physical, social, emotional and creative development

- Creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and self-expression

- Observing and assessing children's progress and development, using multiple observation methods to inform practice and tailor learning experiences

- Building positive relationships with children and families, maintaining open communication about children's learning and wellbeing

- Collaborating with colleagues to implement curriculum frameworks and ensure consistency in educational practices

- Supporting children's transition to school and major milestones in their development

- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of children's learning journeys and developmental progress

- Ensuring all duty of care responsibilities are met, including supervision, health and safety compliance, and maintaining a clean, hygienic environment

- Participating in professional development opportunities and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services

What we're looking for





- A valid Early Childhood Teaching qualification recognised in New South Wales, such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education

- Current Working with Children Check clearance for New South Wales

- Current certification in First Aid and CPR for infants and children

- Strong knowledge and understanding of early childhood development theories and best practices in early learning

- Experience implementing curriculum frameworks such as the Early Years Learning Framework or similar approaches

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build robust relationships with children, families and colleagues

- A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to fostering their holistic development

- The ability to create inclusive learning environments that celebrate diversity and cater to individual learning needs

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy early childhood setting

- A versatile and collaborative approach to working within a team-based environment
