We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to support our Finance Team across daily operations, subcontractor management, integrated system maintenance and fleet administration. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who enjoys problem‑solving, investigating discrepancies, and working across multiple systems. About the Role
As a Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting payment processes, and maintaining smooth finance operations across the business. This is a hands‑on role with plenty of variety — perfect for someone who enjoys both accounting and operational administration.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations & Reconciliations
- Manage and action on accounts inbox queries, billing corrections, credit requests, invoice queries and internal enquiries
- Review monthly subcontractor statements & process subcontractor payments
- Review invoices to ensure costs are correctly allocated to relevant work orders/jobs
- Investigate outstanding invoices, credits, duplicate transactions and payment discrepancies
- Assist with subcontractor queries relating to invoices and payments
- Assist with bank reconciliations.
Multiple System Reconciliations
- Assist with system reconciliations
- Monitor and investigate failed API integrations, including invoice and bill failures
- Liaise with IT and relevant team members to resolve recurring system or integration issues
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial data across integrated systems
Motor Vehicle Administration
Support the day‑to‑day management of the company vehicle fleet, including:
- Vehicle status, breakdowns, drivers and utilisation
- Fuel, tolls, servicing and insurance claims
- Vehicle orders, handovers, movements and temporary vehicle requirements
- Fine nominations and investigations
- Supervisor onboarding for fuel cards, servicing, roadside assistance
Office & General Administration
- Assist with supervisor onboarding
- Coordinate office consumables, printer supplies, recycling and toner collections
- Coordinate SIM cards, mobile phone orders and related administrative requirements
About You
- Studying or recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce major in Accounting and Finance
- Experience with Xero
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and learning current platforms
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- A team player with a willingness to learn and grow
