About the role

McLean & Co Jewellers is seeking a skilled and experienced Jeweller to join our team in Kawana Waters, QLD. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with fine jewellery in a professional and creative environment. As a Jeweller, you will be at the heart of our business, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to create and repair beautiful jewellery pieces. This role is essential to maintaining the quality and reputation McLean & Co Jewellers is known for.

Key responsibilities

- Craft and construct jewellery pieces using various materials including precious metals and gemstones

- Repair and restore damaged or worn jewellery items to the highest standards

- Size, resize and modify rings and other jewellery pieces according to customer specifications

- Polish, finish and quality check completed pieces to ensure they meet company standards

- Utilise jewellery-making tools and equipment safely and effectively, including torches, files, soldering equipment and polishing machines

What we're looking for

- Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in jewellery making OR demonstrated skills gained from experience at the bench.

- Proven experience working as a Jeweller, ideally in a retail or custom jewellery environment

- Strong proficiency in jewellery repair techniques

- Knowledge of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum) and gemstone properties

- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of craftsmanship

- Ability to work accurately with intricate, small-scale items

- Experience using jewellery-making tools and equipment safely

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Reliable and punctual with a professional approach to work

- Laser welding experience desirable
