GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations.

We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation.

Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.

This is a unique chance to contribute to the recommencement of a mine with a proud history, help rebuild operational capability and be part of a strong and experienced mining team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, the Senior Surveyor will act as the site’s NSW Registered Mine Surveyor, delivering accurate, timely and compliant survey services to support safe and efficient mining operations.

In this key technical leadership role, you will maintain the integrity of mine survey data, oversee statutory survey requirements and provide practical surveying support to mine planning, development, longwall and operational teams.

This role is based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities.

Key activities include but are not limited to

- Maintain and certify statutory mine plans and survey records.





- Prepare and manage the Mine Survey Management Plan.

- Maintain underground survey models, mine plans, and survey databases.

- Provide surveying support to operational and technical teams across the mine.

- Support the Authority to Mine (ATM) process for Development and Longwall operations.

- Oversee subsidence monitoring in accordance with legislative and site requirements.

- Ensure compliance with relevant NSW mining legislation and site standards.

- Participate in risk management processes, investigations, and technical committees.

- Manage and maintain survey systems including ArcGIS, Micromine, Web Maps, and Gadsolutions.

- Lead, coach, and support a small team of survey professionals.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational outcomes and data governance.

ABOUT YOU

What you’ll bring:

- Bachelor of Surveying, Bachelor of Engineering (Surveying), or equivalent qualification.

- Current NSW Mining Surveyor Registration.

- Strong understanding of underground coal mining survey practices and legislation.

- Experience maintaining statutory mine plans and survey management systems.

- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Leica Total Station, and survey software applications.

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple operational and technical disciplines.

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a mining survey role.

- At least 3 years' experience in underground coal mining.

- Experience leading and developing survey teams.

- Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and contribute within multidisciplinary teams.
