About the Role:

C & M Steel Pty Ltd is an Australian private company based in Victoria, specialising in structural steel fabrication, installation, and construction services for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. As part of its ongoing operations, the company has nominated the position of Carpenter (ANZSCO 331212) to support its construction activities. The Carpenter is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled carpentry tasks. The role also requires ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with Australian building codes, workplace health and safety requirements, and the company's quality standards, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to determine project requirements, material quantities, measurements, and installation methods.
2. Cut, shape, and fit timber joints to achieve accurate alignment and durable structural connections.
3. Install fascia boards, roof sheathing, external wall cladding, and other finishing elements to ensure structural integrity and quality workmanship.
4. Select, order, and prepare timber, wood products, and other construction materials required for carpentry works.
5. Construct, install, and secure structural frameworks, wall partitions, roof framing, flooring systems, subfloors, doors, window frames, and other building components.




6. Repair, replace, and maintain existing timber structures, fittings, and fixtures as required during construction or renovation projects.
7. Measure, mark, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other building materials using hand and power tools to meet project specifications.
8. Construct and dismantle concrete formwork where required to support building and structural works.
9. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a protected and organised condition while collaborating effectively with supervisors and other trades to ensure timely project completion.

Requirements

1. Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Carpentry or a higher relevant trade qualification.
2. At least 1 - years of full-time, post-qualification work experience as a Carpenter.
3. A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
4. Experience using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
