The position:
What you will be doing:
- Instigate and have the conduct of legal proceedings;
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of legal matters;
- Preparation and management of matters associated with personal injury. This will include, but is not limited to: draft legal documents and correspondence, file management, contact with clients, court hearings, conferences and teleconferences & views;
- Brief Counsel as appropriate;
- Attending counsel conferences, Barrister calls, Informal settlement conferences and other conferences that relate to matter progression.
- Advise, instruct and allocate work to the team; monitor output and review the working practice;
- Ensure that the team is able to complete matters to a standard required by the firm.
- Provide direction and support to team members. This extends to supervising matters and tasks and giving feedback.
- Understand and communicate to the team monthly objectives in relation to status of all matters, especially in relation to completed matters.
- Instruct, guide and support your team towards achieving KPI.
- Allocating and monitoring team workflow and ensuring consistent performance.
We are looking for:
- 2-4 years post admission experience working on NSW Motor Vehicle Accident claims (Plaintiff). Salary is dependent on experience.
- Skilled, respectful and able to work within a high performing team.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent grammar, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan ahead and work towards deadlines.
- Able to work both autonomously and within a team.
- Strong organisational and team management skills.
- Experience in using Microsoft products including as Word, Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint and MS Teams.
- Experience in using the Affinity practice management system would be beneficial but not critical.
