The Role

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Contract Administrator to lead subcontract procurement and contract administration on major construction projects.

This is a key commercial role responsible for developing and owning the subcontract procurement strategy for each project, overseeing the contract administration function, and driving accurate cost reporting and budget control. You will manage the letting and commercial performance of subcontract packages while maintaining budget integrity across assigned projects.

Responsibilities

- Develop and own the subcontract procurement strategy for each project, coordinating scope preparation, market enquiry, and tender evaluation.
- Lead the subcontract letting process, reviewing tender returns and making award recommendations aligned with project budgets and program.
- Maintain subcontractor registers and ensure all subcontractors are vetted, scoped, and contracted prior to commencement managing variations and claims ensuring timely assessment,



documentation and resolution.
- Support the Senior Contracts Manager in subcontract term negotiations and commercial risk management.
- Oversee monthly subcontractor payment assessments and manage disputed payment matters.
- Lead EOM cost reporting for assigned packages, maintaining budget integrity and flagging cost variances early.
- Manage procurement registers, variations registers, and EOT logs across assigned projects.

Requirements

- 7+ years’ experience in contract administration or commercial management within the building construction industry.
- Demonstrated capability managing subcontract procurement and package letting across major projects.
- Sound understanding of construction contract forms, SOPA obligations, and subcontract administration.
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Commerce.
- Proficiency in Jonas Premier or equivalent construction commercial management system.
- Commercially sharp with strong attention to detail in contract and cost management and clear and professional communication.
- Organised and disciplined in managing multiple procurement and reporting obligations simultaneously.
- Confident in managing subcontractor relationships and resolving commercial disputes.
