About the Role
Working as part of an experienced maintenance team, you will be responsible for keeping production machinery and equipment operating safely and efficiently. The role will involve a combination of preventative maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding and equipment improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns.
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and repairing machinery to minimise production downtime.
- Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including interpreting relevant schematics.
- Installing, modifying and commissioning machinery and equipment.
- Assisting with machinery upgrades, improvements and relocation projects.
- Performing precision fabrication and welding work, including MIG and TIG welding.
- Using workshop equipment such as lathes and milling machines where required.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, equipment manuals and specifications.
- Investigating recurring equipment issues and contributing to root cause analysis.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, GMP and workplace safety.
- Recording maintenance activities and equipment information using maintenance systems.
- Working with suppliers to identify and source suitable parts and components.
- Supporting and sharing knowledge with other members of the maintenance team.
- Reporting hazards, incidents and near misses in line with site procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Mechanical Fitter trade qualification and relevant industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- MUST be competent in both MIG and TIG welding.
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- A strong understanding of preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
