The Children’s Hospital at Westmead has a fantastic chance for Undergraduates to work as Assistants in Nursing commencing December 2026 on a casual basis.
We are seeking applications from students enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing who are in their final year in 2027. You will have the opportunity to work in various wards throughout the hospital assisting the nursing team in day to day care of our paediatric patients. As an Assistant in Nursing you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of quality individualised care to patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse within the guidelines set by the NSW Department of Health, the National Registration Board (AHPRA), and The Children's Hospital at Westmead - Division of Nursing.

What you'll be doing
The undergraduate Assistant in Nursing provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of the Sydney Children's Hospital Network, under the direct supervision of an Enrolled Nurse or a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife.
The Assistant in Nursing acts as a role model by demonstrating behaviours and interacting with patients, their families and employees to promote a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness , Respect and Empowerment.

- Documented evidence of undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing (3rd yr.) or Masters (2nd Yr.) which would lead to Registration with the National Registration Board (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
- Previous recent relevant experience as an Assistant in Nursing.
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective team member.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Australian citizenship or a visa which permits employment in Australia
