Racing NSW is the governing body for horse racing in NSW. You will be joining head office with around 70 other employees who perform functions across our various departments.
Our mission statement is "To provide independent, strong and united leadership in the development and enhancement of the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Industry, which will lead to the maintenance of confidence in the integrity of the industry, improvement in its competitive position and increased financial returns to constituent stakeholders".
Location:
The role is full time in our Sydney Head Office.
The office is based right by Town Hall and easily accessible to transport.
Mon-Fri 8:30am – 5pm.
Flexible and/or remote working arrangements will not be considered for this role.
About the role:
The General Manager – Industry Resources is responsible for a wide range of assets including infrastructure and training facilities. These assets play a vital role in supporting the operational and welfare needs of the NSW thoroughbred racing industry.
Reporting to the General Manager - Industry Resources, we are seeking a passionate individual to support the administrative needs of our property assets. You will receive training toward becoming an independent property manager; manage day-to-day operations, ensure alignment with Racing NSW’s strategic objectives, compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and deliver professional,
high-quality service across the entire property portfolio.
Core functions include:
- Maintenance, repairs and ad-hoc capital improvements
- Communication with regional RNSW site-staff
- Coordinating routine inspections
- Identifying opportunities for efficiency, property improvements and cost savings
- Diligent record keeping, communication with stakeholders and internal reporting
- Maintaining compliance
Skills and experience:
This role is not like other administration roles and foster progression into a more senior position.
Previous property and/or thoroughbred industry experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
There will be prospect to expand your skill set and progress internally.
Above all, we are seeking an individual who displays capability and the right attitude.
Training will be provided with the view toward autonomy.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A genuine interest and desire to take ownership of this role
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite
- The ability to multitask and keep track of various and ongoing tasks through to completion
- Willingness to learn
Remuneration will be dependent on experience.
