Digital Marketing and Community Engagement Officer

About the role

We are looking for a creative and highly organised Digital Marketing and Community Engagement Officer to strengthen how CIHE Australia communicates with prospective students, current students, alumni and the broader community. This is a hands‑on role with an approximately equal focus on digital marketing and community engagement. You will manage day‑to‑day digital content and communications while helping to build a vibrant student and alumni community through events, student‑led activities and campus engagement initiatives. Based at our North Sydney campus and reporting to the CEO, you will work closely with staff, students, student leaders and external creative and digital partners across CIHE's campuses.

Key responsibilities

Develop and manage a coordinated content calendar across CIHE Australia's digital channels.

Create engaging content for social media, email, the CIHE Australia website and other external communications.

Write and edit clear, accurate and audience‑appropriate copy for prospective students, current students, alumni and external stakeholders.

Maintain and update website content using WordPress, working with external providers on more substantial design and development work.





Coordinate digital advertising activities with external agencies and providers, including paid social and search campaigns.

Prepare briefs and coordinate external designers, copywriters, photographers and other creative providers where required.

Create basic branded graphics and digital content for social media, events and campus communications.

Help identify student stories, alumni achievements, campus activities and institutional developments suitable for external promotion.

Monitor digital performance and prepare regular reports on content, campaign and engagement outcomes.

Develop and coordinate a program of student events, campus activities and community‑building initiatives across our campuses.

About you

At least four years' relevant experience in digital marketing, communications, community engagement, events or a related role.

Excellent written communication, copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels.

Demonstrated experience managing social media and digital content.

Experience maintaining website content through WordPress or a comparable content management system.

Experience coordinating events, engagement programs or community initiatives.

Strong organisational and project‑management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.

The confidence to work independently and take ownership of day‑to‑day delivery.

Experience working effectively with agencies, designers and other external providers.

The ability to create basic digital graphics and content using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, alumni and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
