You will travel to inspect physical structures (including buildings, shelters and park equipment) taking accurate measurements, drawing floor plans, using inspection software, taking photographs, and providing commentary on the condition of the structure and its components. You'll report on defects, and identify services, construction materials and methods of construction. This role requires regular travel in and around QLD, NSW and WA, with occasional travel to other parts of Australia. There is a mix of city and work from home involved.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect physical structures and take accurate measurements
- Draw floor plans
- Use inspection software
- Take photographs of structures
- Provide commentary on the condition of structures and their components
- Identify services, construction materials and methods of construction
- Coordinate inspection appointments
- Liaise with other project team members
- Keep thorough records of the assets you've inspected
About you
- Ability to travel, and the physical stamina to inspect structures throughout the working day
- First Aid Training
- Measurement skills
- Ability to work with tablet-based inspection software
- Driver's Licence
- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card in QLD, or the equivalent check for the state you'll be working in)
- White Card (general construction induction)
- Background in Building Inspection, a Building Trade, or Valuation (desirable)
- Sound knowledge of construction costs (desirable)
- Casual loading on top of the hourly rate
- Away from home allowance for regional work
- Training in software and systems provided
