The School of Nursing and Midwifery is currently recruiting a passionate and dedicated School Manager to join the team of senior administrative staff within the Health Group. This role will ensure the quality and consistency of high service delivery as well as support positive teaching and student experiences across a large school.
The School Manager is the primary advisor to the Head of School and School Executive on all matterspertaining tothe University, Group and School policies, operations, and business processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high level advice and support to the Head of School and other senior staff.
- Support with planning, budgeting, resourcemanagementand other operational matters along with external engagement activities.
- Assistwith academic work allocation.
- Lead business improvement and change processes.
- Manage and lead School professional staff.
The position activelyparticipatesas a member of the School Executive and plays a key role in contributing to the strategic and operationalobjectivesof the School and Group.
About you
To be successful in this position,
you will hold relevant tertiary qualifications and evidence of extensive management experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
In addition to the above, you willdemonstrate:
- A strategic thinker, witha track recordof developing andmaintainingstrong relationships.
- A collaborative team member with provenexpertisein leading an administrative team in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in the preparation of briefings, information papers,budgetand other reports.
- Project management and/or business process improvement experience, with an ability to partner with colleagues to overcome complex matters in shorttimeframes.
- Knowledge and/or experience in the contemporary challenges facing the higher education sector.
- Sound understanding of financial matters including high level reporting.
What we can offer
This is a continuing, full-time position primarily based at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
HEW level 9 salary range $137,165 - $142,070 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
