Looking for a landscape maintenance role where you're trusted to get on with the job, finish early and still have opportunities to develop your career?
n
We're recruiting for a well-established and growing commercial and industrial landscape contractor looking for an experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Member to join their Brisbane team.
n
This is not residential garden maintenance.
n
You'll be working exclusively across commercial and industrial landscapes, including industrial estates, warehouses and distribution facilities, business parks, schools and commercial developments.
n
Your primary focus will be landscape maintenance, but if you're interested in broadening your experience, there's also the opportunity to get involved with the company's landscape projects and soft-landscape construction team.
n
What's on offer?
n
n
- $40 per hour + super , depending on experience and capability
n
- 6:00am–2:00pm, Monday to Friday
n
- No weekend roster
n
- Permanent, full-time position
n
- Contracted maintenance portfolio providing year-round work
n
- Paid day off for your birthday
n
- Uniform and PPE supplied
n
- Company vehicle and plant provided where required
n
- Tickets, licences and relevant training supported and funded
n
- Genuine progression to Leading Hand, Foreman or Supervisor
n
- Supportive, approachable management
n
- A down-to-earth team with a no big egos culture
n
n
The role
n
You'll work across an established portfolio of commercial and industrial sites throughout South East Queensland.
n
This isn't a role where someone needs to stand over you all day.
n
We're looking for someone capable of taking responsibility for their allocated sites, planning the work, delivering them to a high standard and identifying anything that needs attention.
n
Day to day, you'll be involved in:
n
n
- Commercial and industrial landscape maintenance
n
- Zero-turn, ride-on and push mowing
n
- Edging, brushcutting and blowing
n
- Hedging and pruning
n
- Weed and pest control
n
- Plant health and landscape presentation
n
- Turf maintenance
n
- Basic irrigation checks and repairs
n
- Operating and maintaining landscape machinery and equipment
n
- Completing site reporting, checklists and before/after photos via phone or tablet
n
- Liaising professionally with clients and site contacts
n
- Supporting less experienced crew members when required
n
n
You'll also have the opportunity to step across and assist with soft-landscape construction and project work, including planting, irrigation, mulching, turf and landscape installations.
n
Requirements
n
What we're looking for
n
Attitude is just as key as ability.
n
We're looking for someone who's reliable, takes pride in their work, can work independently and is the sort of person others enjoy having in the crew.
n
Ideally, you'll bring:
n
n
- Around 3+ years' commercial, industrial or body corporate landscape maintenance experience
n
- Good plant identification and practical horticultural knowledge
n
- Confidence operating zero-turn and ride-on mowers and other landscape equipment
n
- A current Queensland driver's licence and confidence towing a plant trailer
n
- White Card
n
- ACDC licence, or willingness to obtain one
n
- Good attention to detail and pride in site presentation
n
- Confidence dealing professionally with clients and site contacts
n
- Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for daily job reporting
n
- The ability to work independently and manage your day
n
n
A Certificate III in Horticulture or Landscape Construction, irrigation experience, chainsaw, EWP, skid steer or loader tickets would all be well regarded, but aren't essential.
n
More than just a maintenance role
n
The business has two growing areas - commercial landscape maintenance and landscape projects - which creates genuine opportunities for the right person.
n
If you enjoy maintenance and want to stay on the tools, there's plenty of ongoing work. If you'd like to progress into a Leading Hand, Foreman or Supervisor position, there's a genuine pathway to do so.
n
And if you'd like more variety, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside the projects team and gain further exposure to landscape installation and construction.
n
Good pay. Early finishes. No weekend roster. Year-round work. A good crew and genuine opportunities to progress.
n
If you're an experienced commercial landscape maintenance professional looking for a better long-term opportunity,
