Sector Engagement, Marketing and Communications Advisor

We are seeking a practical and creative Sector Engagement, Marketing & Communications Advisor to strengthen CHIA Queensland's profile, member engagement and communication channels. This role will suit someone who can translate sector activity, advocacy and policy work into clear, accessible communications, while building strong relationships with members and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

Build and maintain effective relationships with members, sector partners and government stakeholders.

Coordinate member engagement activities including forums, briefings, consultations and working groups.

Develop and manage member communications including newsletters, updates, announcements and campaigns.

Create clear, engaging content for CHIA Queensland's website, email channels, social media and events.

Maintain and update the CHIA Queensland website, ensuring content is accurate, current, accessible and aligned with brand and member communication priorities.

Plan, prepare and distribute electronic mail-outs to members, including newsletters, event invitations, sector updates and targeted communications, using appropriate databases, templates and distribution tools.

Support consistent brand messaging, tone and presentation across organisational materials.

Promote sector events, workshops, webinars, training and capacity-building initiatives.





Track engagement and communications activity using CRM systems and simple reporting measures.

Provide practical communications, coordination and administrative support to the CEO and team as required.

About you

2–5 years' experience in stakeholder engagement, marketing, communications or member-based services.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.

Experience managing communication channels and developing engaging content.

Demonstrated capability in managing website content and electronic direct mail communications, including audience lists, scheduling, quality checking and basic reporting on engagement.

Ability to support brand development, profile-raising or campaign activity.

Strong interpersonal skills and confidence building effective working relationships.

High attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Alignment with social justice values and an interest in the not-for-profit or community housing sector.
