NEPEAN Power specialises in design and manufactures high quality electrical equipment. Our products can be found throughout the Australian and international mining, construction, and industrial sectors. NEPEAN Power is also level 3 Service Providers (ASP3) for designing distribution works in NSW
We are currently offering a fantastic chance for an Estimator based at our NSW Office. POSITION PURPOSE Resource the necessity for technical estimating services to enhance the company’s position to capitalise on market opportunities taking a risk-based approach through qualification and quantification of work scopes, development of work scopes, tender preparation, and evaluation of cost estimates relevant to market value.
KEY RESULT AREAS WHS: To work in a safe manner using appropriate SWMS, Risk Assessments or Safety Operating Procedures.
To notify supervisor or safety committee delegate immediately of any hazards in the workplace and to monitor any actions taken to correct hazards to ensure that the hazard is removed from the workplace Take all reasonable care for the health and safety of all people and the environment at work. Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Demonstrate a high level of professional ethical behaviour when interacting with customers, suppliers and community members. Compliance to company codes and conduct, uniform standards.
- Maintain sound and cooperative working relationships with existing customers. Promptly action customer requests or complaints ensuring a reasonable outcome for both the customer and the company. Ability to liaise with the customer on technical, functional and industry standards.
- Communication: Demonstrate robust communication skills both written and verbally, together with a high level of analytical skill to develop a well-respected reputation from customers, suppliers, company employees and community members. Prepare / participate and attend the weekly business development department meetings.
- People Management: Ensure all reasonable steps are taking to ensure workplace harmony. Exhibit a consistent standard work behaviour in excess of your expectation of others.
- Coach and mentor staff members as required to improve their skills and company capability.
- Up Front design for the purpose of Preparing Quotations and Tenders.
- Compile letters of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by tender. Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc and provide feedback to the business development manager. Participate in the design review process as required ensuring all tender documents are as per the companies offer.
- Liaise with customers on an ongoing basis to determine progress of tender. Monitor the quality of quotations to ensure that they are accurate. Keep customers and business development team informed of any potential problems or likely delays to the completion of quotations.
- Maintain all necessary records of quotations prepared and issued. Improving company representation Proactively seek to identify customer requirements.
- Assist in the analysis of customer trends to enhance sales and service management Demonstrate a knowledge of sales and relationship building process. Maintaining the company CRM as required.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Formal qualifications are preferred with industry experience critical and at least 3 years relevant experience in a estimating capacity or have the equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Other desired minimum qualifications include,
Electrical Trade Certificate / or Advance Diploma in Electrical Engineering Experience in mining & industrial switchboard manufacture / installation or maintenance.
