Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting, and promoting the sport of greyhound racing and greyhound welfare in our state.
The sport generates $643 million in economic activity, returns over $75 million in prize money, rehomes more than 2,600 greyhounds, and directly involves over 17,000 people.

Job Description
About the Role
As part of GRV’s Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP), you’ll play an important role in connecting retired greyhounds with suitable adoptive homes. You’ll coordinate adoption enquiries and applications, support the matching and adoption process, maintain accurate records and online information, and provide follow-up support to adopters. You’ll also contribute to GAP promotions and work closely with internal teams, volunteers and the broader community to help deliver positive adoption outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the adoption journey – manage enquiries and applications, match greyhounds with prospective adopters, prepare adoption packs and complete the required adoption documentation.
- Deliver an excellent adopter experience – provide timely, professional advice and support to prospective and existing adopters,
including post-adoption follow-up.
- Maintain accurate adoption information – keep records, tracking systems and online greyhound information accurate and up to date to support effective adoption outcomes.
- Promote GAP and greyhound adoption – contribute to adoption campaigns, events and promotional activities, working with the Marketing team to support digital and social media content.
Desired Skills and Experience
You’ll bring:
- Robust customer service and communication skills, with the confidence to manage enquiries and resolve issues professionally across phone, email and face-to-face interactions.
- Demonstrated administration and organisational capability, with strong attention to detail, prioritisation, data entry and records management skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to take initiative, remain professional under pressure and work effectively both independently and within a small team.
- Confidence working with larger breed dogs, with a genuine interest in animal welfare; experience within an animal shelter or similar environment will be highly regarded.

We offer:
- A 6-month fixed-term role, part-time (3 days per week: Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays)
- This position is classified as grade 3 under the GRV Employee Enterprise Agreement 2023-2024, which attracts a base salary of $72,189 (pro-rata) plus superannuation.
