Part-time (0.6 FTE), Fixed term up to 5 August 2027, located within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Sydney. Base Salary HEO 6, $107,312 p.a. - $115,686 p.a., pro-rata + 17% superannuation.

About the opportunity

Join us in shaping real-world learning experiences in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences by coordinating student placements and building strong, collaborative relationships with our valued industry partners. Significant focus will be placed on placement compliance, ensuring high-quality, impactful experiences for our students and providers alike. This is a hybrid position requiring three days of work per week: two days onsite (one of which must be Wednesday) and one day working from home. The successful candidate will preferably be available to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Your key responsibilities

- successfully manage the end-to-end delivery of student placements
- negotiate, source and coordinate student placement opportunities
- liaise with internal and external stakeholders to organise placements effectively
- use our placement management software, SONIA, to ensure placements are delivered efficiently and accurate records are kept
- provide support to academic staff to ensure placements are effectively managed
- assist students, placement providers and other stakeholders, ensuring a high-quality, client-focused service
- ensure all compliance activities are completed on time to support safe, successful and rewarding placement experiences.

About you

- strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all aspects of work




- highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage tactfully with a wide range of stakeholders
- proven problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement in a professional context
- excellent time and workload management skills, with a transparent track record of prioritising tasks, managing competing deadlines and delivering outcomes
- demonstrated administrative experience, ideally within a tertiary education setting
- experience using the SONIA placement management system is preferred, but not essential.
