San Damiano College is seeking a passionate and faith-filled Assistant Principal Religious Education to lead the religious life of the College, nurture its Catholic identity, and inspire excellence in faith formation, teaching, learning, and student wellbeing across the school community.

About our school
As the first Catholic secondary college in the community of Yarrabilba, San Damiano College is perfectly placed between Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast. Yarrabilba, as a master planned community in Logan - home to 45,000 residents on completion, is a vibrant growing community with a planned educational precinct within which San Damiano College is located.
The beautiful architecture of the college will cement San Damiano as a visibly Catholic college within the community and will complement St Clare Primary School located just 800 metres away. With adjacent council ovals and the college own oval, the school is well resourced with sporting facilities.
The college has opened in 2021 commencing with Year 7 and will grow one year level each year until Year 12. It is envisioned that San Damiano College will be a 5-stream school catering for 1100 students. Explore our school website to learn more about us.
About the opportunity
Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) invites applications for this School Senior Leadership position with the capability to support the Principal in:
- Building the religious life of the school and a vibrant Catholic identity within the school community;
- Growing the engagement, progress, achievement and wellbeing of each student in the school; and
- Building a sustainable school community, ensuring stewardship of resources with transparency, accountability and compliance.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Leading, promoting and strengthening the Catholic identity of the school by embedding faith, values and mission across school life, learning and community engagement;
- Embedding a culture of inclusion,
diversity and belonging that reflects Catholic values and supports the overall well-being of all;
- Fostering a high-performance culture by supporting and inspiring staff through providing professional learning and development opportunities and providing vision, direction and purpose;
- Supporting staff and students in their personal, professional and spiritual growth through formation, theological learning and reflective practice within a Catholic Christian context;
- Leading and managing assigned staff, finances and resources in accordance with legislative requirements, Archdiocesan expectations and BCE policies and procedures.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience
- Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).
