Our client is a leading plastic manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality products within a regulated production environment. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their night shift team.
This is an excellent chance for someone who enjoys hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring production machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and ensuring all production machinery is operating efficiently
- Setting up, dismantling, adjusting, and troubleshooting production equipment
- Performing corrective maintenance and assisting with preventative maintenance activities
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime
- Using a range of hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks
- Cleaning, servicing, and reassembling production equipment
- Supporting production schedules and operational requirements
- Maintaining accurate batch records and maintenance documentation
- Adhering to all company procedures, safety requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Operating forklifts as required
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the production area
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Exposure to preventative maintenance programs and manufacturing quality systems
- Previous experience in machine setting, machine operation, or maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on experience using mechanical tools and equipment
- Demonstrated experience performing corrective maintenance and fault-finding activities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve equipment issues efficiently
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- A current Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
