About this opportunity

The NACC has a Chief Information Officer position available for immediate filling in Canberra. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.

About the role

The position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) reports to the General Manager Enabling Services and will operate as part of the Enabling Services Branch in the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). Operating under broad direction, the CIO will lead the ICT, property and security functions for the Commission.

The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the General Manager Enabling Services.

Key activities of this position include:

- Strategic leadership – provide leadership and management to develop and deliver a forward-looking ICT strategy for the Commission in alignment with its enabling and operational objectives.
- Team management – develop, mentor and lead the ICT, Property and Security team to maximise the contribution to effective service delivery.
- Manage ICT resourcing requirements, including budget development and management,



oversight of complex procurement processes, contract negotiation and performance monitoring and management.
- ICT environment – oversee the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Commission's Cloud IT environment, ensuring that systems and networks operate securely, reliably, effectively and efficiently across our various locations.
- Cybersecurity – Undertake the role of the Commission's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to maintain and enhance the Commission's cyber security posture through the development of robust cyber security policies and procedures and better practice approaches of threat identification and treatment.
- As Artificial Intelligence (AI) Accountable Official, manage AI use case approvals, develop and embed the AI Governance Framework, ensure organisational compliance with whole-of-government requirements, support the uptake of AI in line with Australian Government strategies, and drive organisational AI awareness.
- Oversee the Commission's Protective Security function and lead the implementation of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) strategy and framework, including developing and implementing appropriate plans and frameworks to manage the Commission's security risks to support a positive security culture.
- Oversee the Commission's property portfolio ensuring property, accommodation and facilities arrangements support organisation priorities.

- Salary: $150,692 - $169,800 plus service allowance





The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Eligibility

- Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 2.
- Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
- Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
