About the Position

Alavi Company Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our Brisbane team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will work across residential and commercial projects and will be responsible for preparing surfaces and installing wall and floor tiles to a high professional standard.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

n

The successful applicant will be responsible for duties including:

n

n
- examining plans, specifications and work areas to determine materials required and appropriate tile layouts;
n
- measuring and marking surfaces to establish accurate tile positioning;
n
- preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, adhesive and other materials;
n
- repairing, levelling and cleaning surfaces prior to tiling;
n
- applying waterproofing systems to wet areas where required;
n
- preparing and applying adhesives to surfaces;
n
- cutting and shaping ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaic and other tiles around corners, edges, fittings and pipes;
n
- laying and positioning tiles to achieve correct alignment, spacing and levels;
n
- using tile-cutting equipment, hand tools and other relevant trade equipment;
n
- applying grout between tiles and removing excess grout;
n
- installing decorative, mosaic and feature tile patterns where required;
n
- inspecting completed work and replacing damaged or incorrectly positioned tiles;
n
- ensuring completed work meets project specifications and required quality standards;
n
- maintaining tools and equipment in safe working condition;
n
- maintaining a clean and safe work setting;
n
- and complying with applicable workplace health and safety procedures.

Skills and Experience

n

Applicants should possess:

n

n
- a relevant qualification in Wall and Floor Tiling,



such as Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or an equivalent qualification ;
n
- or relevant experience consistent with the requirements of the occupation; preferably at least 2 years of relevant wall and floor tiling experience ;
n
- demonstrated experience in residential and/or commercial tiling;
n
- demonstrated experience in surface preparation, tile laying, cutting, grouting and finishing;
n
- knowledge of waterproofing and wet-area preparation;
n
- experience working with ceramic, porcelain, stone and mosaic tiles;
n
- ability to accurately measure, cut, position and align tiles;
n
- ability to read plans, specifications and measurements;
n
- high attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship;
n
- ability to work independently and as part of a team;
n
- good time-management and organisational skills;
n
- understanding of workplace health and safety requirements;
n
- and appropriate Australian work rights or eligibility to obtain relevant work rights.

Salary and Employment Conditions

n

This is a permanent, full-time position.

n

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum plus superannuation , commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and relevant experience. The final salary will be determined having regard to the applicant's experience and the applicable market salary for the position.

Work Location

n

Alavi Company Pty Ltd / Alavi Tiling Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane QLD 4113. Work will also be performed at residential and commercial project locations throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas as required.
