Disability & Aged Care Support Worker | Casual

As a Disability & Aged Care Support Worker, your responsibilities will depend on the individual you are supporting, their goals, preferences, care plan and level of assistance required. You may work across NDIS supports, aged care supports, or both, depending on your experience, qualifications, interests and suitability for individual participants and clients.

Key responsibilities

NDIS & Disability Support may include:

In-home and daily living support

Personal care and assistance with everyday routines

Community access and social participation

Transport to appointments, activities and community events

Developing independence and daily living skills

Meal preparation, cooking and nutrition support

Youth and teen support

Before and after school support

School holiday and community-based programs

Aged Care & In-Home Support may include:

Personal care, showering, dressing and grooming

Assistance with daily routines

Domestic assistance and light household tasks

Cleaning, laundry and home organisation

Meal preparation and grocery support

Social support and companionship

Community access and outings

Shopping and everyday errands

Transport to appointments and activities

Supporting mobility and independence

Across both service areas, workers are expected to complete accurate progress or care notes, communicate professionally and work collaboratively with participants, clients, families,



carers and other professionals where appropriate.

About you

Respectful of choice, privacy, dignity and autonomy

Person-centred and strengths-based

Comfortable working independently in people's homes and in the community

Able to adapt their approach to the individual

Patient and responsive to different communication styles

Able to follow individual support and care plans

NDIS Worker Screening Check for NDIS participant-facing work

NSW Working With Children Check where supporting children or young people

National Police Check

Current First Aid certificate

Current CPR certificate

NDIS Worker Orientation Module where applicable

Reliable and appropriately insured vehicle

Relevant experience and/or qualifications appropriate to the role
