About the role:
As a trailer mechanic, you will ensure the safety and reliability of heavy vehicles by performing expert maintenance, servicing and repair operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing of heavy commercial trailers
- Fault find and repair suspension and brake air systems
- Servicing and repair of heavy commercial vehicle suspension systems and brake reline
- Test and repair basic electrical circuits
- Fault find and repair air and hydraulic control systems
- Accurately complete all paperwork associated with repair and maintenance
- Engage in diverse responsibilities that change daily, allowing you to apply existing skills and develop new ones.
We are looking for someone with:
- Trade qualifications; Certificate III (or higher)
in Heavy Commercial Trailer Technology, or Engineering
- Forklift licence and HR licence or higher (preferred, although not essential)
- Hydraulic, pneumatic and welding experience are advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
- Good oral and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently on tasks, but also within a small team
- Good time management; including being punctual, and reliable
- Own tools, and personal protection equipment
