Health And Safety Manager
Bielby isexperiencing a period of sustained growth, supported by a strong pipeline ofinfrastructure projects and continued expansion into new regions. Building onover 40 years of successful major project delivery, we are seeking anaccomplished Health And Safety Manager to join our team and playa critical role in the delivery of a major $400M regional road restorationproject.
Initiallybased in Sydney before mobilising to project, this role offers a uniqueopportunity to take ownership of traffic management strategy and deliveryacross a major regional road restoration project that will improve connectivityand resilience across regional NSW.
As HealthAnd Safety Manager, you will be responsible for driving a proactivesafety culture, ensuring compliance, supporting operational leaders, andcreate an environment where every person goes home safely every day. Thisrole combines strategic leadership with hands-on project engagement, providingthe opportunity to influence outcomes at every level of the business.
What You'll Do
- Lead the project's health,safety and wellbeing strategy from mobilisation through to completion.
- Drive a positive and proactivesafety culture across the project team, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice to projectleadership on safety management, compliance and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with WHSlegislation, project requirements and Bielby management systems.
- Lead incident investigations,corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee risk assessments, safetyplanning and assurance activities across all project operations.
- Develop and deliver safetyleadership programs, coaching and mentoring initiatives.
- Monitor project safetyperformance and provide detailed reporting to project and executiveleadership.
- Build strong relationships withclients, regulatory authorities and workforce representatives.
- Support future tenders andproject pursuits by contributing safety expertise during planning and bidphases.
What You'll Bring
- Diploma or Degree qualificationsin Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in safetyleadership within major civil infrastructure, construction or transportprojects.
- Strong knowledge of NSW WHSlegislation and relevant industry standards.
- Demonstrated success developingand leading high-performing safety cultures.
- Experience supporting largemultidisciplinary project teams in complex construction environments.
- Strong incident investigation,risk management and auditing capability.
- Excellent stakeholder engagementand communication skills.
- Ability to influence leaders,supervisors and frontline teams alike.
- A practical and collaborativeapproach to improving safety outcomes.
