Choice of Day Shift: $59.34/hr + Penalties or Night Shift: $71.21/hr + Penalties
$3.67/hr Site Allowance paid on all hours worked
Camp accommodation, meals and daily bus transport provided
Shutdown project through to the end of October with potential extension to November
About Our Client
Our client is delivering the planned major shutdown at Kogan Creek Power Station. The shutdown involves a comprehensive overhaul of the 750MW generating unit, including critical maintenance, inspection, repair, and upgrade works across the boiler, turbine, generator, and balance-of-plant equipment.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Pressure Welder, you will be responsible for completing welding and maintenance activities on critical plant and pressure equipment during the shutdown.
- Performing coded pressure welding on boilers, high-pressure pipework, steam lines, and associated pressure equipment
- Completing welding repairs, modifications, and replacements
- Carrying out TIG, Stick, and MIG welding
- Reading and interpreting isometric drawings, welding procedures, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Completing pipe fit-up, alignment, weld preparation, and pre-heating activities
- Welding carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome/moly, and specialist alloys
- Working closely with Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters
- Preparing welds for inspection and quality assurance requirements
- Assisting with pressure testing and inspection activities
- Safely operating welding equipment, grinders, oxy equipment, and associated tools
What You Will Need
- Previous experience performing pressure welding within industrial, power generation, shutdown, or heavy industry environments
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, including chest x-ray
- Working at Heights (completed within the last 2 years)
- Confined Space (completed within the last 2 years)
- White Card
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
- Willingness to work away from home
- Current Resume
