Administration and Communications Assistant — Childcare Centres
We are a well-established, family-owned childcare group on Sydney's lower north shore, operating long day care, preschool and outside school hours care. We are seeking an organised and capable Administration and Communications Assistant to support the administrative, communications and compliance functions of our centres. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities and requires a high level of organisation, accuracy and discretion. You will work closely with management and centre staff, and will be a key point of contact for families. The role is based across our lower north shore centres, so you will need to be comfortable working between locations. This position is offered on a full-time basis, however we are open to discussing part-time hours for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
Developing documents and templates for families and staff using Canva
Managing content and communication on our family engagement platform
Developing and maintaining spreadsheets and registers to track documentation, key dates and follow-up actions
Reviewing and updating policies and procedures, and maintaining associated review schedules
Processing and filing compliance documentation and maintaining accurate records
Preparing and distributing weekly attendance and reporting documentation
Planning and coordinating centre events, excursions and special functions
Responding to enrolment enquiries and conducting centre tours
Managing daily emails, calls and correspondence
Supporting compliance, record-keeping and audit requirements across our services
What we are looking for
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to develop and maintain tracking spreadsheets
A proactive approach, with the ability to recognise where support is needed and take the initiative to assist
Confident design skills in Canva or similar, with a strong eye for layout and consistent branding
Excellent written and verbal communication and a skilled manner with families and staff
Willingness to work across our locations in the lower north shore
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and follow tasks through to completion
A qualification at Certificate, Diploma or degree level
A valid Working with Children Check is required before commencement
Australian citizens or permanent residents
Highly regarded but not essential
- A degree in Marketing, Communications, Media or a related field
- Previous experience in a childcare or education setting
