Townsville Yacht Club is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Functions & Events Coordinator/Supervisor to join our team, to help deliver superior functions and events experience.

Located on the beautiful Townsville waterfront overlooking our marina, the Yacht Club hosts a diverse range of events including birthdays, conferences, corporate functions, weddings, anniversaries, wakes and Sailing & boating events.

We trade 5 days a week from Wednesday to Sunday offering excellent facilities including a licensed restaurant, bar and function spaces.

This is a hands on role that combines event coordination, customer service, administration and hospitality operations. No two days are the same.

Working closely with our Restaurant Manager, Head Chef and Administration Team, you will coordinate functions from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring every event exceeds our clients' expectations.

The role will be broken up into administration tasks, customer liaison both face to face and by telephone, staff meetings and hands on delivery of functions and events as well as general bar and restaurant service.

This position offers a varied roster, predominantly Tuesday to Saturday with flexibility to meet operational expectations.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Provide prompt, friendly, customer focused service to patrons
- Answering phone calls, taking function queries and managing restaurant and function bookings
- Respond to enquiries in a timely manner
- Use your sales and upselling skills to book outstanding functions and events
- Plan, organise, set, coordinate and supervise functions and events
- Assist the food and beverage team with restaurant and bar service.




- Develop a working knowledge of all Club activities
- Various Club administration tasks
- Processing cash and EFTPOS transactions
- Computer system use (Function Tracker, POS systems and/or membership and booking systems)
- Keeping our facility clean, tidy, hygienic, and safe

Ideal skill of the Candidate (before applying, ask yourself if you can demonstrate the following attributes):

- Function Tracker Software Experience (desirable)
- Experience in a hospitality environment serving customers and overseeing functions
- Previous function coordination and supervision experience is essential for this role
- Dynamic and energetic personality that thrives in a customer facing role
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for interacting with people
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Collaborative and team focused
- Current RSA Certificate
- Computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office products
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency including email and simple document creation
