Payroll Officer | Lytton | 6-Day Fortnight | Flexible Hours | Work Around Your Life

About Us

Kitchen Connection, Australia's largest and most trusted kitchen retailer and part of the KWB Group, is seeking a Part-Time Payroll Officer (6 day fortnight) to join our Head Office team in Lytton.

We're proud of our supportive, family-oriented culture, where flexibility, trust and work-life balance are genuinely valued.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to own our fortnightly pay run end-to-end. This is a genuinely payroll-focused role where you'll process payroll for approximately 250 employees across two pay groups, working with MicroPay, ConnX and our modern in-house payroll automation platform.

Work Pattern

- Week 1: Monday to Thursday (4 days)
- Week 2: Thursday and Friday (2 days)

We offer genuine flexibility around start and finish times, including school drop-offs, pick-ups and family commitments. Some flexibility around the Week 2 schedule may also be available for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

- Process the fortnightly pay run end to end, reviewing and approving each cycle workflow.
- Investigate and resolve pay anomalies including overtime validation, penalty rates, missing timecards and terminations.
- Apply Modern Awards, the NES, and statutory obligations with confidence, including STP Phase 2, superannuation, PAYG, and payroll tax across QLD, NSW, ACT and SA.
- Own EOFY payroll activities, reconciliations with Finance, and statutory reporting.
- Respond to employee pay queries with accuracy and discretion.

- Maintain payroll master data integrity across MicroPay and ConnX, and contribute to continuous improvement of our payroll rules and processes.

What You'll Bring

- Demonstrated experience running end-to-end payroll in a multi-site or multi-state environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Modern Awards, the NES, and Australian statutory payroll obligations.
- Experience with MicroPay and ConnX highly regarded; comparable payroll/HRIS systems welcome.
- High attention to detail, sound judgement, and absolute discretion with confidential information.
- Comfortable working with modern, automated systems, curiosity about payroll technology and AI-assisted tools is a genuine advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills.

What We Offer

- Permanent part time role working a 6-day fortnight.
- Genuine flexibility around school drop-offs, pick-ups and family commitments, with core hours of 10am to 3pm.
- Work-from-home opportunities available once fully trained and established in the role.
- Some flexibility around the Week 2 schedule for the right candidate.
- A modern payroll environment with industry-leading automation tools.
- A supportive, family-oriented culture.
- Opportunity to take ownership of the payroll function.
- Competitive salary plus superannuation.
- The stability of a growing Australian-owned business within the KWB Group.

Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia. Shortlisted candidates will be required to consent to reference checks.
