Registered Nurse - Neonatal / SCN & NICU

Join the dedicated Neonatal team at Greenslopes Private Hospital as a Full-Time Registered Nurse, providing high-quality, compassionate care to newborns requiring specialised support.

As a member of the clinical team, you will provide individualised nursing care to neonates while working closely with parents, families, medical staff, midwives and the broader multidisciplinary team.

This is an opportunity to develop and utilise your neonatal nursing skills within a supportive and collaborative environment, with a strong focus on safe, family-centred care.

About You

You are a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with a genuine interest in neonatal nursing and a commitment to providing safe, high-quality care to newborns and their families.

You have strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities and the confidence to work in a specialised clinical environment. You understand the importance of family-centred care and are committed to supporting parents throughout their baby's hospital journey.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide safe, high-quality and evidence-based nursing care to neonates.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
- Monitor neonatal patients and recognise and respond appropriately to changes in their clinical condition.
- Provide care to babies requiring Special Care Nursery (SCN) and neonatal support within the scope of the service.
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Support parents and families by providing education,



reassurance and assistance with their baby's care.
- Promote family-centred care and encourage parents to participate in their baby's care where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with parents, families, medical staff, midwives, nurses and allied health professionals.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and seek support when required.
- Participate in clinical handovers and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Contribute to a protected, supportive and positive clinical environment.
- Participate in education, professional development and quality improvement activities.

You Will Also Bring

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Previous experience in neonatal nursing, SCN or NICU is highly regarded.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Sound understanding of neonatal care and the needs of newborns and their families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and family-centred approach to patient care.
