Health Education Officer (Grad/Non Grad) - Harm Reduction Program - Perm FT

You are a compassionate and adaptable health professional who is passionate about improving community health outcomes through evidence-based, person-centred approaches. You thrive in diverse community settings, enjoy building meaningful connections, and are committed to delivering inclusive, non-judgemental care that supports individuals and communities to achieve better health and wellbeing.

Passionate about reducing harm associated with drug use and improving community health outcomes through evidence-based, person-centred interventions, with knowledge of or a willingness to learn about harm reduction principles, blood-borne virus prevention and drug and alcohol interventions.

Demonstrates excellent communication, active listening and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, including those experiencing vulnerability, crisis or complex health and social issues.

Organised and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, accurate record management skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Skilled in, or keen to develop expertise in, planning and delivering health promotion activities, community engagement initiatives, brief interventions, health education programs, referral pathways and quality improvement projects.

Values cultural respect, inclusion and equitable access to healthcare, is willing to travel across South Western Sydney to support service delivery,



and possesses a relevant health qualification and/or demonstrated experience working with people who use drugs.

A current driver's licence is essential.

Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
