This position offers the opportunity to lead specialised environmental construction projects while working alongside highly experienced industry professionals.
Position Overview
QFS Solutions is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Supervisor / Civil Supervisor to join our growing team.
This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for supervising civil and environmental construction projects throughout Queensland and interstate. The successful applicant will coordinate field operations, lead construction crews, oversee project delivery, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
We are seeking a practical and motivated leader with experience in civil construction, environmental infrastructure, landfill gas and leachate systems, HDPE pipeline installation, and multidisciplinary construction crew supervision.
Employment Type
Casual employment with regular ongoing work available.
Opportunity to transition to a permanent full‑time position following the successful completion of a six (6) month probation period.
Ongoing employment will be based on performance, leadership capability, attendance, reliability, and compliance with company and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Site Supervision & Project Delivery
Supervising and coordinating daily construction activities.
Leading construction crews, subcontractors, and plant operators.
Managing the installation of HDPE pipelines, landfill gas infrastructure, and leachate collection systems.
Coordinating labour, plant, equipment, and materials.
Monitoring construction progress against project schedules, specifications, and quality requirements.
Assisting with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Conducting site inspections and quality assurance checks.
Leading daily pre‑start meetings, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
Implementing and enforcing SWMS, JSEAs, and company safety procedures.
Identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
Ensuring environmental controls and compliance requirements are maintained.
Maintaining compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Communication & Administration
Liaising with project managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site representatives.
Preparing and submitting daily site reports, progress reports, and project documentation.
Managing project‑related correspondence and emails.
Maintaining accurate safety, quality, environmental, and construction records.
Completing project paperwork accurately and within required timeframes.
Travel Requirements
Travelling and working away from home when required.
Overtime, weekend work, public holiday work, and extended hours may be required to meet operational and project requirements.
Employees may be required to work on rostered projects both within Queensland and interstate.
Rosters may vary depending on project requirements and can include extended periods working away from home.
Accommodation,
travel arrangements, and applicable Living Away from Home Allowance (LAHA) will be provided on eligible projects in accordance with company policy.
Roster schedules and project requirements will be communicated in advance wherever reasonably practicable.
Applicants must possess:
Construction White Card.
Current Driver's Licence.
Minimum three (3) years' experience in a supervisory or leading hand role within civil construction, environmental infrastructure, or related industries.
Experience interpreting construction drawings, technical specifications, and engineering plans.
Solid leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, maintain project records, and manage project documentation.
Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic reporting systems.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Verification of work rights within Australia.

Any offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of all required pre‑employment screening, verification processes, and the satisfactory completion of a six (6) month probation period.
