Job Description
SVHM Registered Nurse (Grade 2) Permanent position available 32 hours per week Friendly and supportive team environment Based in Kew in our beautiful new facility
About the Role
The unit is a purpose-built facility set against a picturesque backdrop of the Yarra River and bush surroundings. If you are passionate about palliative care and have a strong commitment for evidence based, patient centred care we would love to hear from you.
Duties
- The demonstration of a person-centred approach in all aspects of daily nursing practice
- The identification and corrective management of patient risks including skin integrity, falls and medication management.
- Liaise with the patient, patient’s family, medical and ancillary staff as required or requested
- Actively participate and contribute to all quality improvements including monthly audits
- Act as a role model and support for junior staff in all clinical aspects
Classification
Classification for this position will be YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
- Completed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with AHPRA registration
- Specialist Palliative Care experience is essential
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Motivated qualified with exceptional communication and time management skills
- Current National criminal history check

About Caritas Christi Kew
The palliative care in-patient unit at Caritas Christi Kew specialises in the care of patients with life limiting illnesses who may also have multiple medical co-morbidities. Our patients are admitted for end-of-life care, symptom management and occasional respite. Specialised assessment, care and discharge planning is provided by an inter-disciplinary team.
