About the role
We are seeking experienced Permanent MC Long Distance Drivers to join our team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane QLD 4000, offering the opportunity to work with a reputable transport company that values professional drivers. As a Long Distance Driver, you will be responsible for operating articulated vehicles across Queensland and interstate routes, delivering freight safely and on time whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
What you'll be doing
- Operating articulated vehicles (MC class) on long-distance routes across Queensland and interstate destinations
- Ensuring all freight is transported safely, securely and on schedule in accordance with customer requirements
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues or defects
- Maintaining accurate logbooks and documentation in compliance with road transport regulations and fatigue management laws
- Adhering to all traffic laws, speed limits and safety regulations whilst driving
- Communicating effectively with dispatch,
customers and management regarding delivery progress and any issues that arise
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and performing routine maintenance checks
- Contributing to a safety-focused workplace culture and participating in toolbox talks and safety initiatives
What we're looking for
- Current MC class driving licence valid in Australia with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years' experience driving articulated vehicles on long-distance routes
- Comprehensive knowledge of fatigue management regulations and hours of service requirements
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate logbooks and compliance documentation
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to conduct vehicle pre-trip inspections
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise professionally with customers and internal teams
- A commitment to safety and demonstrated responsibility regarding vehicle maintenance and road safety practices
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks including loading and unloading freight
- Experience with GPS and modern telematics systems is desirable
- Current National Police Certificate or willingness to obtain one
