The Opportunity
Due to increasing demand for our services, we are looking for a highly motivated Structural Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Newstead structural team. You'll play a key role in contributing to engineering design projects across a diverse range of commercial and industrial projects, collaborating closely with senior project engineers, drafters, and key clients.
You’ll enjoy being mentored by respected industry professionals and possess the agility required to consistently deliver high-quality work across a diverse range of projects, including:
- Luxury and Prestige Residential
- Townhouses and Multi-residential (3–9 storeys)
- Commercial and Industrial Developments
- Aged Care and Educational Facilities
- Community & Service Clubs
- Civil Infrastructure & Bridges
Requirements for Success
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Engineers Australia-recognised)
- 5+ years relevant postgraduate experience in a structural engineering practice
- Confident in structural principles, materials and applicable Australian Standards.
- Familiar with AutoCAD and Hyne Timber Design,
with proficient working knowledge of SPACE GASS, Strand7 and Inducta Suite software.
- Proven ability to work at pace, both independently and collaboratively
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness and ability to undertake site inspections
- Interest in gaining RPEQ, NER, or CPEng accreditation
