Restoration Technician / General Labourer – Full Training Provided
No restoration experience required – we'll teach you.
Looking for something different?
If you're a labourer, trade assistant, cleaner, removalist, warehouse worker, or hands‑on person who's reliable, practical, and keen to learn a skilled trade‑like role, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.
Amtec Disaster Recovery is growing in Queensland and we're looking for people to join our team in Underwood and train as Restoration Technicians.
We're much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude who turns up, works hard, can think for themselves, and wants to learn.
So, what does a Restoration Technician do?
When a home or business is damaged by a burst pipe, storm, flood, mould or another insured event, our technicians are the people who attend the property and help prevent further damage and begin the restoration process.
One day you might be extracting water from a flooded home. The next you could be installing specialized drying equipment, taking moisture readings, removing damaged materials, or setting up a mould remediation area.
It's practical, hands‑on work where you'll develop real technical skills.
What you'll learn
We'll train you in areas including:
- Structural drying
- Using professional drying and restoration equipment
- Moisture testing and monitoring
- Mould remediation
- Setting up containment areas
- Safe removal of affected materials
- Contents handling and inventory
- Site safety and hazard identification
- Customer communication
- How to assess a job and understand what needs to happen next
As your skills and experience grow, so will the level of work you're able to complete independently.
Who we're looking for
You don't need a restoration background.
You do need to:
Be reliable and turn up when you say you will
Have a strong work ethic
Be willing to learn
Be comfortable with physical, hands‑on work
Be able to follow procedures and safety requirements
Treat customers and their homes with respect
Communicate well with your team
Be willing to take responsibility for your work
Hold a current driver's license
Experience in labouring, construction, demolition, cleaning, removals, landscaping, maintenance, or another hands‑on role would be useful, but isn't essential.
This isn't just another labouring job
Our goal is to develop people into capable Restoration Technicians.
You’ll learn how to use specialised equipment, understand water damage and structural drying, complete technical moisture assessments and eventually manage restoration tasks independently.
For someone who wants to learn and progress, there are opportunities to develop into more senior technician and leadership roles as the business grows.
What we offer
- Full on-the-job training
- Opportunities to complete industry qualifications
- Company equipment and PPE
- Varied work – you're not standing in the same place doing the same thing every day
- Support from experienced restoration professionals
- Career progression within a growing Queensland operation
Amtec Disaster Recovery provides qualified restoration services following water damage, mould, fire, and other property damage events.
We're an established restoration business expanding our Queensland operations and we're looking for people who want the opportunity to grow with us.
Ready to try something different?
If you're hardworking, reliable, and looking for a role where you can learn a specialised skill and build a career, we'd like to hear from you.
Experience is useful. Attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn matter more.
