Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is seeking an experienced RTO Quality and Compliance Officer to support the effective governance and continuous improvement of our Registered Training Organisation.
n
Working within our Education Division, you will play a key role in ensuring our training and assessment operations meet the Standards for RTOs 2025, VET Quality Framework, ASQA requirements and other applicable regulatory and contractual obligations.

What You'll Do:
n
n
- Monitor and maintain RTO compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2025, VET Quality Framework, Australian Qualifications Framework and relevant regulatory requirements
n
- Conduct internal audits, quality assurance reviews, compliance monitoring and sampling activities
n
- Identify compliance gaps and risks and coordinate rectification, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
n
- Coordinate and submit regulatory and contractual reporting, including AVETMISS, Quality Indicator, DTET and other state and national reporting requirements
n
- Develop, review and maintain RTO policies, procedures, compliance documentation, registers and quality frameworks
n
- Maintain oversight of trainer and assessor qualifications, endorsements, competencies and industry/VET currency
n
- Monitor the integrity and accuracy of student records and RTO data within aXcelerate and associated education systems
n
- Maintain continuous improvement activities, including feedback, registers, action plans and quality reviews
n
- Support training product development, resource reviews, mapping, validation and training package transitions
n
- Monitor the compliance of learning and assessment resources, online enrolment systems, LMS platforms, websites and education-related digital resources
n
- Support external audit enquiries and regulatory activities
n
- Provide practical compliance guidance and training to staff, trainers and assessors
n
- Build strong compliance awareness across the Education Division through consultation, communication and stakeholder engagement
n
n
About You:
n
You'll bring strong practical RTO experience and be confident working across compliance, systems, reporting and quality assurance.
n
n
- Hold a Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one)
n
- Minimum three years' experience working within a Registered Training Organisation
n
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, equivalent or higher-level adult education qualification
n
- Strong working knowledge of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and Australian VET regulatory environment
n
- Demonstrated experience conducting RTO internal audits and quality assurance activities
n
- Experience identifying compliance risks and implementing effective corrective and risk mitigation strategies
n
- Experience preparing, validating and reviewing AVETMISS and RTO data
n
- Experience using a Student Management System such as aXcelerate, VETtrak or similar
n
- Experience maintaining compliant student records, awards and certification processes
n
- Robust written communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
n
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to quality and continuous improvement
n
