About the Role:
As Forsight's NDIS Nurse Educator you will play a key role in combining clinical expertise, education, and compliance responsibilities to support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred disability health services.
This position hybrid role based between the Support Office, with a requirement to work across Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes located between Western Sydney, Marrickville and Shellharbour. Working closely with the Operations Management Team, the role provides ongoing clinical support, education, mentoring, and staff training to promote best practice, quality care, and positive participant outcomes.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
Clinical Care & Nursing Responsibilities
Support implementation of clinical support plans
Provide clinical leadership and expert nursing guidance to support the delivery of safe, person-centred care for NDIS participants.
Assess and support staff competency in areas including medication management, dysphagia, enteral feeding, epilepsy management, diabetes care,
wound care, infection prevention and control, and other complex health supports.
Provide clinical oversight and training to active support workers
Collaborate with participants, families, guardians, allied health professionals, medical practitioners, and external stakeholders.
Monitor client health outcomes through regular onsite visits (SIL homes)
Conduct medication audits within the SIL home setting
Implement the medication audit process with Active Support Workers and with SIL environments
Provide support for high-intensity clinical needs, including participation in multidisciplinary meetings with health professionals.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement.
Maintain confidentiality in line with the NDIS Code of Conduct
Collaboratewithhome operations teamto improve medication management practices.
Support Quality Assurance and Risk Manager with external audits, registration, and reaccreditation processes
Training and Capability Building
Design and deliver staff training in clinical and compliance areas.
Design and deliver medication training, including general administration, Schedule 8, Schedule 4D, and psychotropic medicines.
Provide clinical training including high-intensity to SIL homes as needed.
Create training materials and educational resources.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Experience in disability, health, or social services sector
NDIS worker screening check
Valid drivers license
Strong communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
Experience in frontline disability support as an active support worker
Project management and continuous improvement experience
Familiarity with quality management systems
Strong knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and compliance framework
Experience in clinical policy development
Experience in audits and accreditation processes
